Privately Listed Sale
Description & Details
We held an estate sale in this house back in June, but the sale did not even remotely clear the house. We believe this was mainly because of us having a large amount of items, the summer heat, and the fact that there were no snowbirds n town. We still have somewhere between 3,300 to 3,700 tems to sell across at least 30 major categories. In other words, this is still what you would call a PACKED house! where we have added around 400 new items since June. Prices are, in general, the same as the June sale, with only a few slightly higher, but on the maybe 200 items where we did maybe change a price, the prices are slightly lower by about a 3 to 2 margin. We believe our prices were right in line with estate sale company prices (if not even slightly lower in many categories ), and the traffic was lower than expected because there were zero snowbirds in town. According to AI and FYI, snowbirds make up between 30% to 40% of all estate sale traffic in Tucson in the winter season! :)
We are offering 30% off all marked prices on Saturday and 50% off on Sunday on most items. On Saturday, the only item that will have an exception to this is the antique, 1920s Austrian 11 piece dining suite. Sunday will be 50% off the marked price on 98% to 99% of all items. But the discounts are even slightly higher because there is No Sales Tax!
Here are the main categories of items for sale:
Antique furniture: 1920s antique Austrian, Acacia wood 11 piece dining suite with dining table, one leaf, six chairs (can seat up to eight people ), wine cabinet, china cabinet and buffet. A beautiful dining suite at a very reasonable price.
(2) 1910s antique Gunn Barrister Four stack bookcases, A+ condition!, refinished in 1997 but it still has that nice "antique look"
Antique, Turn of the Century, Loveseat and Chair set, along with another beautiful antique chair that is from exactly the same era
Antique books: We still have over 70 antique books from the 1870s to 1930s with several from famous authors, prices are very reasonable
Kitchenware: This is a big category where we have over 400 items for sale at very reasonable prices, including clear glass, colored glass, Pyrex, coffee mugs, pots and pans, dinnerware, silverware, coffee makers and coffee pots, etc.
Women's designer clothing: Another big category with over 250 items (we gave to Goodwill the ones since last time that were either slightly damaged or lower in value ) with names such as Ralph Lauren, Donald Pliner and other mid range names, etc. These did not sell well in the June estate sale because they are mainly winter and early spring clothes. Many sweaters and jackets. Many scarves, hats and gloves! Maybe about half of them are from the 1960s through 1990s and the other half are much more recent, contemporary. Sizes mostly M and L.
Women's designer shoes: We have over 70 pairs of these, both vintage and contemporary, brand names like Donald Pliner and Clarks. Sizes mainly 8 to 9.
Women's handbags and purses: You will see much more of these than at the average estate sale as we have over 50 of them! :) Coach and many nice, mid range brands, several of them would be leather

Books: We have over 250 books for sale, mostly nonfiction but a few fiction, both vintage and contemporary, and over maybe 75 magazines for sale
Electronic items: A nice little selection of both vintage and contemporary electronic items. Many of them are tested, but a few are not because of scarcity of batteries and time constraints, but there are four or five that we marked "needs repair" or needs part, where we believe the item still has value
Music Books and Sheet Music: This is one of the new items that we have in this estate sale, from storage, and it is the biggest new item. We have somewhere around 300 music books, sheet music (not photocopied music, we have this particular item in five boxes below the main table of music books for sale ) and educational music book items for sale. Bathroom items: Several dozen very useful bathroom items, from knee wraps, adult care items, brushes, combs, little mirrors, make up and accessory bags, etc.
Oriental and other Rugs: A few of these are antique, many vintage and they are various sizes. About 20 of them, small to large.
