Melrose Treasures Estate Sales
Description & Details
ABOUT THE COLLECTION
Melrose Treasures Estate Sales is pleased to present this single-owner collection of Lladr? porcelain, assembled over many years by a devoted Los Angeles collector with a genuine passion for the artistry of Lladr?.
The collector moved to Los Angeles from Chicago in 1960 and built a successful career in banking, ultimately rising to a vice president position at Union Bank at a time when such professional advancement was considerably less common for women. She remained an enthusiastic collector throughout her life and was a member of the Lladr? Society.
Many of the pieces in the collection were given to her by her husband to commemorate birthdays, anniversaries, and other special occasions, while others were personally selected and acquired as her collection grew. The collection remained displayed in her home and reflects decades of personal enjoyment and appreciation for Lladr? porcelain.
The collection includes a wide variety of subjects, from delicate figures and animals to larger and more elaborate compositions, including retired and Lladr? Society editions.
Offered directly from the collector's estate, the collection is being presented at auction as it was assembled and enjoyed over many years.
