We are proud to present the estate of Kaneko and Harry Bishop, an exceptional sale filled with fine Asian antiques, Japanese art, tea ceremony items, collectibles, and decades of curated treasures. This is a rare opportunity to shop a collection built by one of San Diego’s most respected figures in the Japanese cultural community.

About the Owners:
Mrs. Bishop (born Kaneko Oshima in Nagoya, Japan) was a Tea Ceremony professor, longtime instructor, and a major contributor to Japanese cultural life in San Diego. She helped lead the creation of the Japanese Friendship Garden, served as president of the San Diego/Yokohama Sister City Society, and in 2013 received the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays, awarded by Emperor Akihito at the Imperial Palace.

Her husband, Harry Bishop, served in the U.S. Air Force, worked in aerospace, and later settled with his family in San Diego.

What You’ll Find at the Sale:
