Description & Details
Welcome to Criticalglass's 11th auction! My dad, Neal Fleisher, was a lifelong collector of cut glass starting at the age of 13. This auction will feature many of his prized pieces that he enjoyed over the course of nearly 70 years of collecting cut glass - it's now time for others to enjoy them as much as he did. This auction features a treasure trove of high-quality items from not only my dad's collection, but also other important collections from around the country. There are over 160 pieces including many incredible museum-quality examples. This auction has some exceptional examples of engraving - deep Libbey intaglio, Stevens & Williams colored/engraving, a museum quality, rock crystal footed bowl by Fritsche, and some extremely fine examples of Hawkes' Gravic including one of my dad's favorite pieces - an spectacular Hawkes Gravic engraved fruits with matching Gorham silver spout. Several world-class trays are being sold - Anderson's Universe, Libbey's Rosella, Meriden's Star, and the finest example of Hawkes Festoon I've ever seen with matching Shreve sterling border! There's also some extremely unusual example of color - a three color Stevens & Williams hock wine, a cranberry to clear engraved bird flask, a Hawkes Macdonald Uranium ramekin and underplate, a Stevens & Williams amethyst of amber jar, and a cobalt over clear over cranberry punch bowl. Truly incredible stemware throughout the auction including a rare cranberry to clear Hoare Crystal pattern wine, an impressive Hoare Wedding Ring variation wine stem, and some exceptional engraved examples. Many rare patterns, shapes, and sizes are offered throughout the sale including a Libbey Marcella decanter, a giant J. Hoare decanter, and an original, full-sized Hawkes oil lamp. Many silver mounted pieces, unusual shapes, large pieces, small pieces, all colors and everything in between in this top-tier sale. A truly wide-variety of the highest quality cut glass items are offered in this sale!
