Description & Details

NO EARLY SALES! NO PRICES QUOTED PRIOR TO OPENING!

This sale is in a lovely home in the Wild Oak neighborhood, near Norris Ferry and Overton Brooks. The lady of the house was a world traveler and careful collector of quality furniture, art, and decor. The photos speak more than my words ever could, but I will list some highlights!

The star of the show is a 19th century cast iron sugar kettle. Measuring just over 55" in diameter, this massive piece was made by Leeds & Co. in New Orleans. The name can be found embossed on the flared rim. If you have been searching for an authentic Louisiana sugar kettle, this is the one. You will not likely see another one for sale anytime soon.

Other highlights include:

  • Two beautiful antique butcher blocks
  • Early copper pots, buckets, kettles, et al. (don't miss the wonderful antique copper candy kettle)
  • Brass items large and small, new and old; including many items by Virginia Metalcrafters
  • Terracotta pots and vessels of all ages, shapes, and sizes.
  • Beautifully handmade quilts
  • Silk and wool area rugs
  • Early ducks decoys and newer hand-painted ducks
  • Large shipwreck bottle
  • Lovely wrought iron and concrete outdoor items
  • A wonderful collection of Erzgebirge Christmas Pyramids as well as other vintage German Christmas items
  • Dozens of MLB game signed baseballs and a handful of game signed bats (all signatures were collected by the son)
  • A huge, whimsical animatronic Santa in his sleigh
  • Several large pieces of vintage Magnalite
  • Portmeirion enamel cookware
  • Porcelain pieces and sets made by: Spode, Coalport, Portmeirion, Quimper, Wedgwood, et al.
  • Blue and white old and new; chinoiserie, blue willow, flow blue, delftware, and more.
  • Satin glass
  • Capodimonte
  • Vintage wood toys by Brio and others along with handmade pieces
  • Breyer horses
  • A large collection of pewter items dating back to the 18th century
