ONCE IN A LIFETIME TAG SALE

Severn River Auctions and Estate Sales presents a rare and unusual collection of World War II memorabilia, material from President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s (FDR) service as President, and other items from a local Montgomery County, Maryland Museum. Highlights of the collection that are for sales include, but are not limited to the following:

·         FDR’s Whitehouse pet dog Fala’s painted metal dog bed with Provenance.

·         Autographs of five members of the Tuskegee Airmen, signed on a P-51 -tyle pedal car with folding wings and steering wheel, including Lt Col. Leo R Gray (ret.), Tuskegee Airmen Class of 1944 G, and member of the 100st and 332nd fighter Groups.

·         Items signed by Brigadier General Paul W. Tibbetts (ret.) pilot of the B-29 nicknamed (nose art) “Enola Gay” which dropped the first atomic bomb on Japan.

·         Items signed by Lt. Col. Fred J. Olivi (ret.) co-pilot of the B-29 nicknamed (nose art) “Bockscar” which dropped the second and last atomic bomb.

·         Paratrooper’s signaling “clicker” used during the D-Day Invasion and Battle of the Bulge in 1944.

·         Handkerchief belonging to President Harry Truman with letter signed by First Lady Bess Truman.

·         1939 Official cloth bound Program of King George VI’s of his visit to the US (first visit by a member of the British Royalty), includes his itinerary and a Whitehouse reception.

Some of the items come with signed documents establishing their provenance.
