Marshall Green was a United States Ambassador or Under Secretary of State posted to the following places during his long diplomatic career - Iraq, Indonesia, Australia, Japan, and China. An expert in East Asia studies, he also joined Pres. Richard Nixon on the opening of China in 1972. He worked for five Presidents (Truman, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon and Ford) of both parties from the end of World War II into the 70's.
