John Carroll University to hold estate sale to benefit theatre program

Are you looking for gently-used clothing and accessories?

For the first time ever, John Carroll University’s Fine & Performing Arts is hosting a

weekend-long estate sale. Many costumes and props will be sold at super affordable prices, as

well as other miscellaneous items that have a variety of different uses. All proceeds will go

toward the remodeling of JCU’s Kulas Auditorium, as well as enhancing the university’s theatre

program.

Theatre has been formulating the identity of JCU for over 100 years, putting on all sorts of

productions in the two performing spaces on campus, which are Kulas Auditorium and Marinello

Little Theatre. After a two-year hiatus of theatre and other forms of fine and performing arts,

students and faculty worked diligently to bring the arts back to life at JCU during the 2024-2025

academic year.

Today, fine and performing arts at JCU are thriving, with both Kulas Auditorium and Marinello

Little Theatre consistently booked for classes, events and performances. All arts-related student

organizations are seeing growth in membership and more fine and performing arts classes are

being offered to students. The goal for the next five years is to recruit more students to

participate in the arts and put together a theatre minor that will pair well with any major.

The estate sale will take place on Saturday, July 12 and Sunday, July 13 from 9:00-4:00 at John

Carroll University (1 John Carroll Blvd., University Heights, OH). Signs will be posted throughout

campus to assist with guiding you to the sale’s exact location. This opportunity is great for local

schools and theatres that are seeking more gently used objects for their programs.
