This lot features five (5) silver Franklin half dollars from 1963, kept in protective slips. 90% silver. The Franklin Half Dollar is a silver coin minted by the United States Mint from 1948 to 1963. It features Benjamin Franklin on the obverse and the Liberty Bell on the reverse. The coin was designed by John R. Sinnock, with some design elements added by Gilroy Roberts after Sinnock’s death. The Franklin Half Dollar marked the end of the “golden age of American coinage art” and the shift from allegorical figures to historical figures on coins.

A pair of silver seated liberty quarters. One is a 1857-O and the other is 1876. Both have been kept in protective slips. Robert Ball Hughes and Christian Gobrecht designed the Liberty Seated Quarter. They were minted from 1838 to 1891. The Liberty Seated design became one of the longest-running motifs in the United States coinage. Until 1891, U.S. quarters were 90% silver and 10% copper.

The “V” nickel, officially called the Liberty Head Nickel, was a U.S. five-cent coin minted from 1883 to 1912, with a few produced in 1913. It earned its nickname due to the large Roman numeral “V” on the reverse, representing the coin’s denomination. The coin was designed by Charles E. Barber, the U.S. Mint’s Chief Engraver.

Michael and Michele Gwinup established Blue Spruce Pottery in Bend Oregon in 1976. Their stoneware pottery are all functional pieces that are food safe. It is fired in a gas kiln to 2200 degrees, cone 10. This makes the clay very durable. Maker mark underneath as shown in photos.

The Seattle Mariners, an American League West franchise, were founded in 1977 as an expansion team. They were part of the 1977 MLB season alongside the Toronto Blue Jays. The Mariners’ home stadium was the Kingdome until 1999, when they moved to Safeco Field (now T-Mobile Park).
