Full payment is required at end of the auction including full stated buyer's premium and any applicable taxes. Sales Tax: 6 % Sales Tax Applied to invoice total, including Internet Premium of 20%. The auction ends on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, beginning at 10:00 a.m. All purchases will be subject to a 6 % Pennsylvania Sales Tax unless the purchaser possesses a valid tax-exempt number. Live Auctioneers requires that you upload a copy of your Tax I.D or they will charge you sales tax. Please upload your tax exemption certificate prior to the end of the auction on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. No exceptions.
Please be aware that you are about to participate in the auction sale of personal or real property. This type of sale is much different than your purchase of property at a retail store or from another type of merchant. There are absolutely no guarantees of the quality or condition of the items for sale or that the item will be suitable for your particular purposes. Risk of Injury: Bidder acknowledges that an auction pickup site is a potentially dangerous place and shall be deemed to be there at their own risk. No person shall have any claim against the auctioneers, their agents, employees, or principals for any injuries sustained or for damage to or loss of property which may occur from any cause whatsoever.
The auctioneer, in a catalog, brochure, advertisement, or oral statement, uses his best effort to describe an item and any quantities of that item contained in a particular bid lot. Such description is made only to assist in the orderly conduct of the auction process and does not create any warranty that the item is as described or that a particular lot contains the number of items stated. Litigation: The auctioneer's discretion will be used to settle any disputes that may arise during the auction event. In the event there are any legal claims made by either the auctioneer or any bidder arising from the auction shall be brought in the Worcester County Court in Massachusetts. The prevailing party in such litigation shall be entitled to an award of reasonable attorney fees and costs.
Bidders agree to be bound by the above recited terms and conditions. All property is sold AS IS, and ALL SALES ARE FINAL. It is the Bidders responsibility to determine condition, age, genuineness, value, or any other determining factor. Central Mass Auctions reserves the right to withdraw or re-catalog items in this auction. All purchases through Live Auctioneers will be assessed a 20% Buyers' Premium. This will be added to the purchase price and is subject to all applicable sales taxes.
Risk of loss: The risk of theft, damage or other loss to the property is the buyer's responsibility immediately upon becoming the successful bidder. It is the bidder's sole obligation to protect the property after that time. Property will be left at the auction site after the conclusion of the auction. Auctioneer has absolutely no obligation to secure the property and only has the obligation to grant access to the auction site for bidder's removal of the item at the designated removal time.

CMA reserves the right to withdraw any lot at any time before the auction without any liability. All items are sold as, is where is.
PAYMENT: Full payment is required by 5:00 PM Eastern time on Wednesday, September 8, 2025.
Invoices of $5,000 or more require payment by wire transfer of cashier's check. We also do not accept ACH payments on items of $5,000 or more. Please pay the invoice when you receive it
by Wednesday, September 8, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. using Live Auctioneers Payment System. If you are tax exempt, please make sure to enter your tax I.D. Please contact the auctioneer prior to the end of the auction if you would like to discuss other arrangements for payment. No changes can be made without written consent of the auction house. Please make sure the card you register with has enough funds to cover your purchases.
LOCAL PICK UP: As a courtesy to local bidders, we are offering a local pickup at the museum in Pennsylvania. Local Pickup date is Saturday, September 13 and Sunday, September 14 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Please respond to the email that will be sent out after auction end to schedule a pickup time. For all items where the bidder requests local pickup items must be picked up during the local pick-up time only September 13 and 14 from 9:00 – 3:00. Please contact the auction house prior to the end of the auction if you are unable to pick up during this time to see if your request for a later local pickup can be accommodated. For those requesting local pickup, items not picked up by September 21, 2025, are considered abandoned property.
Note: Display cases pick-up only on Sunday, September 14, 2025. Railroad car pick-up by appointment after the general pick-up dates.
Removal: No item may be removed from the auction site until the full bid price and taxes are paid. All items must be removed during the scheduled pickup time unless arrangements are made in writing with the auctioneer.
The packaging, removal and loading of all items is the responsibility of the winning bidder. Please bring any packaging materials, moving equipment, etc. that you might need. We are offering the collection of transportation memorabilia from the Harlansburg Station Transportation Museum in New Castle, Pennsylvania. The museum houses a large collection of railroad memorabilia including 4 railroad passenger cars. There is a vintage telephone booth with a telephone and other telephone and telegraph equipment. Aeronautical items include a Pittsburgh bronze airport sign and airport beacon. Nautical pieces include a brass ships binnacle, brass ships wheel, and many handcrafted ship models.
