*Connie was the personal assistant to Bill Wittliff (William D. Wittliff), the screenwriter of "Lonesome Dove" and "Legends of the Fall," as well as the founder of Encino Press. She was also the director of the Wittliff Collections at Texas State University, and helped build it into the internationally recognized collection it is today.
