Shopping Guidelines & Policies

To ensure an enjoyable and safe shopping experience for everyone, please review the following:

1. Entry & Capacity

We limit the number of shoppers in the venue at one time for safety and comfort, with additional limits in certain areas as well.

A sign-up sheet is placed out before 7 a.m. on sale days.
Please sign in — one person per line — to secure your spot. Return to line 15 minutes before opening according to your number placement.

Depending on the sale, we will allow 30–50 persons in at a time, with additional limitations in certain areas.
It’s a good practice to take a photo of the list after you’ve signed in to confirm your position.

2. Pricing & Availability

We do not provide pricing or item availability over the phone or via email.
We do not pre-sell items before the public sale. Please do not ask.

3. Bids & Holds

We gladly accept bids on items priced over $500, with a minimum bid of 50% of the ticket price.
We do not accept bids on items discounted to $500 or more, nor on items discounted below $500.
Please leave your bid and contact information with the cashier.

If you request an item to be marked “Sold” or placed in one of our hold areas, it is considered purchased by you.

All items you ask us to tag “Sold” or “Hold” must be tagged by our team using our tags, and your contact information is required.
These items cannot be removed until your paid receipt is shown to a team member and stamped accordingly.

Depending on the estate event, we may have up to four different hold areas for your convenience.

For items you are certain about, please ask a team member to tag them. Smaller items may be held safely with our attendants while you continue shopping.

4. Content Creators

We welcome positive, uplifting photos and videos of our events.
Please do not film other shoppers or staff without permission.
Feel free to tag us on social media: @WhenPigsFlyEstateSales.

5. Methods of Payment

We accept cash, credit cards, Apple Pay, PayPal, and Zelle, with a 3% courtesy fee on the total purchase.

6. Pre-Sales & Special Events

We do not pre-sell items or provide pricing in advance.
Please do not ask.

7. Security & Surveillance

Our events are monitored by both audio and video surveillance, as well as onsite security.

Jewelry, sterling, gold, and other high-value designer pieces are removed from the site after hours.
Many events have 24-hour onsite security — please do not startle them.

8. Consignments

We occasionally feature high-value consignments.
If you have fine jewelry, art, designer items, or automobiles you’d like to consign, we’d love to hear from you.

9. Shopping Courtesy & Restrictions

Do not remove tags yourself — please allow our team to do so.

Large handbags, purses, and backpacks are not permitted; small crossbody bags are fine.
This restriction is due to the potential for damage caused by large bags, not theft concerns.

Children under 12 are not permitted — thank you for understanding.

Designer, Gold, Sterling, and other items we determine may require cash or bank wire transfer for total sales over $300.

We do NOT provide assistance with wrapping, packing, supplies, or personal assistance with moving or loading items.
In the event we have supplies, they are available until gone.

If we have able-bodied persons here to help you move items, that is an arrangement between you and them, and we are not responsible for breaks or damages.
Admirable tips are expected for those helping you move items. This help is paid for by you and expected if you use their help.
We do not accept credit/debit cards or other payment methods for tipping movers — please bring cash before requesting assistance.
Any tips go to them directly in cash and are not negotiated by our team.

Movers we have used:

SDS: 682-802-1625

RPM Movers: 469-321-3629

Steinsholt Movers (Houston / Dallas): 346-402-6429

10. Item Condition & Authenticity

All items are sold as-is.

As time permits, some designer items may include authentication or provenance documentation.
We do not intentionally sell dupes or faux designer items; however, buyers should use their own discretion before purchasing.

If we note an item as broken, chipped, or repaired, we will try to list this on the tag.
This is not a guarantee, and you are responsible for noting such conditions.
We do not offer refunds, credits, or exchanges if an item is not identified with any defect, or if the description is later found to be incorrect.
You are the final determination when deciding to purchase any item.

We do not offer returns, refunds, or exchanges.
Please verify your receipt and the actual cash, credit, or debit transaction before you pay.

Tip for buyers: Inspect items carefully, especially fragile, high-value, or antique pieces. Consider bringing protective boxes, padding, or arranging movers for delicate items.

11. Safety & Accessibility

Be mindful of your surroundings at all times.
We do not accept responsibility for injuries occurring on-site.
Please note that none of our locations are handicap accessible unless specifically noted.

12. Buyer Tips & Event Flow

Doors open promptly at the published time; the first hour is often the busiest.

Bring adequate vehicle space for large furniture, art, or décor items.

If purchasing fragile or high-value items, plan for safe transport and handling.

13. FAQs

Q: Can I hold an item before purchase?
A: Yes; however, hold areas are considered sold areas, and you are required to purchase any item placed in a hold area.

Q: Can I pay with Venmo or Zelle?
A: We accept cash, credit/debit cards, Apple Pay, PayPal, and Zelle.

Q: Are items guaranteed authentic?
A: Items are sold as-is. Some high-value pieces may include authentication documentation.

Q: Are movers provided?
A: No — assistance is optional and arranged directly between you and the helper. Admirable tips are expected.

WHEN PIGS FLY AUGUST SIGNATURE ESTATE SALE

FOUR DISTINCTIVE ESTATES. ONE EXTRAORDINARY GALLERY.

AUGUST 28–30

Friday, August 28 | 9:00 AM–4:00 PM

Saturday, August 29 | 9:00 AM–3:00 PM

Sunday, August 30 | 10:00 AM–3:00 PM

This August Signature Estate Sale brings together four very different consignors, each with a collection and point of view all their own.

From a Dallas socialite with multiple storage locations filled with treasures, to a beautifully appointed Preston Hollow condo, a University Park home in need of a new venue, and a returning North Dallas consignor making a dramatic downsizing move, this event is all about variety, discovery and the unexpected.

Expect furnishings, fine and decorative art, designer clothing, gold jewelry, collectibles, accessories, practical pieces and those wonderfully unusual things that make an estate sale worth exploring.

And then there is the cabinet.

More on that below.

MEET THE FOUR ESTATES

THE DALLAS SOCIALITE — AND YES, THERE'S MORE

She’s back.

Our Dallas socialite has become familiar to many of our shoppers, and with multiple storage locations, we continue uncovering pieces from her extensive collection.

This month, she’s bringing us even more.

And one piece deserves a special introduction:

THE 12-FOOT-TALL CABINET

Yes. Twelve feet tall.

It is officially the most massive piece of furniture we have ever had at When Pigs Fly.

Frankly, we think you could turn it into a bunk-bed cabinet.

We’re kidding.

Mostly.

Beyond the cabinet, expect another wonderfully eclectic assortment from a consignor whose collection continues to surprise us.

THE PRESTON HOLLOW CONDO

Our Preston Hollow consignor brings a completely different personality to the sale.

Think designer pieces, gold jewelry, lovely clothing, beautiful furniture and sophisticated décor from a well-appointed condo.

This collection adds a polished, fashionable layer to the event, with pieces for both the home and the wardrobe.

THE UNIVERSITY PARK HOME

Sometimes the contents of an estate simply need a different location to be properly presented.

That was the case with this University Park home.

We relocated the collection to the gallery, where shoppers will discover an appealing combination of the practical, collectible and unique.

These are the pieces that make estate-sale shopping so much fun—the useful mixed with the interesting, along with plenty of things you weren't looking for until you saw them.

THE NORTH DALLAS DOWNSIZE

One of our returning North Dallas consignors has made a significant lifestyle change, downsizing from approximately 10,000 square feet to 3,000 square feet.

And when you eliminate 7,000 square feet from a home, something has to go.

Fortunately for our shoppers, many of those pieces are coming to the gallery.

This returning consignor brings another diverse selection of furnishings, art, clothing, jewelry, decorative pieces and more, adding yet another distinctive point of view to our August event.

FOUR CONSIGNORS. FOUR DIFFERENT STYLES.

That's what makes this Signature Estate Sale especially interesting.

There isn't one decorating style.

There isn't one era.

And there certainly isn't just one kind of shopper this event is designed for.

You'll find the beautiful beside the practical, designer pieces beside collectibles, statement furniture beside everyday finds, and familiar names alongside things you've probably never seen before.

It's exactly what we want our Signature Estate Events to be:

A place to explore. A place to discover. And a place where you never quite know what might be around the next corner.

CURATOR'S HIGHLIGHTS

Look for:

  1. Designer clothing and accessories
  2. Gold jewelry
  3. Fine and decorative art
  4. Furniture from multiple Dallas-area homes
  5. Decorative accessories
  6. Collectibles
  7. Unique and unusual pieces
  8. Practical household furnishings
  9. Statement furniture
  10. And one absolutely enormous 12-foot-tall cabinet

Plus much more as the estates continue to be unpacked, photographed and prepared for the sale.

THE SIGNATURE ESTATE EVENT EXPERIENCE

At When Pigs Fly, not every estate can—or should—be sold inside the home.

Our Signature Estate Events allow us to bring multiple estates and collections together under one roof, creating an entirely different shopping experience.

Instead of visiting several homes across Dallas, you'll find an ever-changing collection of furnishings, art, jewelry, clothing, decorative objects, collectibles and unexpected discoveries throughout our gallery.

Every consignor has a story. Every collection is different. And you truly never know what you'll find.

WHY SHOP THE GALLERY?

Our gallery format allows us to combine collections from homes throughout the Dallas area into one curated shopping destination.

Multiple estates under one roof

Four consignors mean four different collections, styles and opportunities to discover something special.

Room to explore

Our gallery allows us to showcase substantial collections and large-scale furnishings that aren't always practical to present in a traditional residential estate sale.

A comfortable shopping environment

Shop indoors in a climate-controlled setting with room to browse.

A resource for designers, collectors and decorators

Whether you're furnishing an entire room, sourcing for a client, adding to a collection or simply hunting for one extraordinary piece, our gallery changes with every event.

LARGE-ITEM PICKUP & MOVING — PLEASE PLAN AHEAD

Because our warehouse is currently full and we must quickly make room for our upcoming events, all purchases should be removed during the sale whenever possible.

For large purchases, we offer one additional pickup day only:

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 1 | 10:00 AM–2:00 PM ONLY

No other pickup days or times are available.

PLEASE COME PREPARED TO MOVE YOUR PURCHASES

When Pigs Fly does not provide onsite movers or staff to wrap, pack, carry or load purchased merchandise.

Please come prepared with the people, equipment, packing materials and appropriate vehicle necessary to safely remove your purchases. If you are unable to move an item yourself, you will need to arrange for a professional mover or other assistance.

This is especially important when purchasing large furniture, artwork, mirrors, fragile items and oversized pieces.

Please consider measurements, doorways, transportation and moving requirements before purchasing.

Our next estates will begin moving into the warehouse immediately following this event, and we cannot store sold merchandise beyond the designated pickup period.

ALL PURCHASES MUST BE REMOVED NO LATER THAN 2:00 PM TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 1.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we make room for the next extraordinary collections coming to When Pigs Fly.

NOT A TRADITIONAL ESTATE SALE

This is estate-sale shopping reimagined.

We relocate qualifying estates, partial estates and collections to our gallery, where they can be professionally organized, presented and marketed together.

For our clients, it provides another option when an in-home estate sale isn't practical.

For our shoppers, it means access to multiple estates in a single destination.

And for all of us?

It means we occasionally find ourselves standing in front of a 12-foot cabinet wondering how on earth we're going to move it.

That's estate sales.

And that's When Pigs Fly.

A DESTINATION WORTH THE DRIVE

Come ready to browse.

Come ready to explore.

And, as always, come ready for the unexpected.

Four completely different Dallas-area collections are coming together for our August Signature Estate Sale, and there is no telling what you may find.

Curated highlights. Unexpected discoveries. One extraordinary gallery experience

THE JAMES SADLER COLLECTION OF TIME

64 years of collecting. More than 200 clocks and pocket watches. One extraordinary collection.

We are honored to present the James Sadler Collection of Time, an extensive private collection assembled with passion and dedication over an incredible 64 years.

Featuring more than 175 distinctive clocks, the collection represents a lifetime fascination with timekeeping, craftsmanship, history, and the decorative arts.

Rather than offering the collection all at once, we will be presenting it across three upcoming When Pigs Fly / Adam House events, giving collectors and clock enthusiasts multiple opportunities to discover something exceptional:

August 28–30 — Signature Estate Event

October 7 — Adam House Auctions Gallery Auction

Late October — Signature Estate Event

From beautifully carved wooden cases and intricate movements to unusual forms and wonderful examples of traditional clockmaking, this is a collection that deserves to be experienced.

64 years in the making.

175+ clocks.

And now, it’s time for the collection’s next chapter.

Seth Thomas | Welch | Waterbury | Ithaca | Gilbert | Ansonia | Jewelers Regulator | Southern Calendar | and many more makers. NOTE: Not all clocks will be displayed and available in the August Gallery event. Please see the dates above for when they will be added additionally.
