I am an old and tired, retired textile and folk art dealer selling my remaining collection.  Many of which are museum quality.  Included are vintage and antique textiles, folk art, and jewelry from Guatemala, India, and Indonesia.

From throughout the Guatemalan maya highlands there are cortes (hand woven skirts of between 6-8 yards of fabric, huipils (blouses), servilletas (ceremonial cloths), tzutes (head coverings), cargadors (carrying cloths), perrajes (shawls), and some contemporary throws, placemats, and covers made from vintage garments.  Any of these pieces can be used in many decorative situations for home use.  They can be framed, simply hung on a wall, draped on sofas, beds, or chairs, or used as runners for tables.  Skirts can be made into clothing, pillows, placemats, napkins, or almost anything you can think of.  Many of the vintage huipils can be worn..

Also collected is a beautiful selection of vintage hand carved slingshots known as ondas. These were carved by men and boys and used to hunt small game and birds.

I have been collecting and studying Guatemalan Maya textiles since the early 1970’s.  I have worked with museums, private collectors, architects and designers, and individuals.

I have been collecting and selling Indian hand embroidered pieces since the 1990’s.  Included are torans (pieces to hang over doors and windows) and chaklas (square or rectangular pieces to hang over or above home altars).

Also included are 2 wedding skirts from Indonesia (embroidered with gold thread), an antique mola blouse from Panama, dated to the 1920’s, and several other items.

A beautiful Navajo child’s blanket (purchased fro Case Trading Post at Wheelright Museum in Sante Fe), and a stunning rug from Mexico (a combination of design work from Saltillo and Oaxaca).

The majority of these pieces will be sold at very good prices.  Reasonable offers will be considered.

Continue to check back for updates and more photos.  Sale will continue through the end of next weekend.
