We are so happy to bring you the next sale in Round Rock along the banks of Brushy Creek. As I was working setting up the house, I saw two foxes come on the back porch and play with each other. A bearded dragon also stared me down. And the normal amount of squirrel action.
This house - and it's a lot of house - belonged to a lovely couple who lived in it for 30 years and loved travel, bulldogs, the Longhorns and held a special place for Napoleon.
We have lovely, like-new contemporary furniture - a powered sectional sofa as well as a lovely 3 seater sofa, armchairs and brass & glass coffee and end tables from Louis Shanks by Haverty as well as many pieces of mid-century and Hollywood Regency from Drexel and other makers. There is a museum's worth of bulldog collectables and decor (The Bulldog Museum?). Those who are interested in history and warfare will enjoy the upstairs library and the keen interest the owner had in Napoleon and the Civil War of which we have antique books, prints, a Franklin Mint Battle of Waterloo Chess set among many other things.
Entertaining was done a lot and done well. Some really special pieces from Limoges, Rosenthal, Italian makers and much more are for sale. We have glassware from Heisey, crystal stemware from Royal Leerdam Netherlands ("Carola" pattern) and other makers.
Speaking of crystal, we have some absolutely beautiful pieces from Baccarat, Lalique and Lladro including some very big ones like "Sleigh Ride" and "Napoleon".
There are no men's clothes but the closet is chock full of contemporary clothes (Chico's, Liz Claiborne) as well as a large selection of UT Longhorns apparel with some fun retro styles scattered in there. We have vintage and contemporary purses (Dooney & Burke, Michael Kors).
Because of logistics, we had to move a bookstore of books, so besides the older books upstairs, we have new non-fiction hardcovers by Mary Higgins Clark, Clive Cussler, Clancy, Grafton and more.
The gentleman was a Cincinnati Reds and Longhorns fan so we have Reds memorabilia (signed Johnny Bench, Frank McCormick, Pete Rose and Earl Campbell items as well as other collectables).
Pictures will continue to be uploaded in the coming days so please keep checking back!
