Description & Details
Our June auction features another eclectic collection of locally sourced objects from DMV estates. Notable items include mint condition Meissen monkey musicians, and a group of fine 19thC giltwood sconces, gilt eagle shelves and gilt gold mirrors. High end contemporary furniture by Nancy Corzine includes a fine set of carved dining chairs, paper-mache tray tables, down-filled upholstered settees and lounge chairs, plus more exceptional wall mirrors. Notable clocks are offered here, including an 18thC walnut marquetry longcase clock by William Westbrook, mercury gilt bronzes, and more. There is a nice selection of Asian and tribal items, and very attractive pairs of table lamps. In addition, we offer estate found prints, paintings, maps and pictures, along with our usual selection of Danish Modern and other interesting MCM pieces. Both antique and modern American and Continental art pottery and porcelain pieces are represented well. Another rare and unusual item is an original 1977 hand painted New York Dolls punk rock jean jacket/vest with period patches and an autograph we have yet to identify. Another interesting lot includes a very rare set of six aluminum SS United States ocean liner armchairs. More highlights are a good native American stone point collection from the estate of the Paleo-Indian archeologist and author Jack Hranicky. This list is by no means comprehensive, and more is being added daily so when you check back be sure to hit refresh.
