Here comes an important collection of period furniture, samplers, transferware, brass and copper, textiles and many 19thC household items that have been in this private collection of two generations of the same family for well over 140 years.   The period furniture includes a very fine high style John Scudder of Westfield, N.J. tall case clock c. 1800-10. , late 18thC Pennsylvania Kas, Two 18thC small hanging cupboards, cherry linen press c. 1760-1780, a likely Philadelphia18thC Queen Anne drop leaf dining table with Cabriole legs and trifid feet surrounded by a set of 6+1 American Bird Cage Windsors, circa 1810. a 19thC scrolled hanging chest, Roll top desk, American Hepplewhite Card table circa 1790, charming wirework birdcage, Old worn (and lovely) Butchers table,  Pennsylvania Queen Anne Tavern Table with two drawers, a very early likely Virginia Queen Anne Tea table with a long(documented) history of being in the Alsop family Fredericksburg. Va.), Pennsylvania Chippendale Chest on Frame with cabriole legs and Ball and claw feet, AND ALSO...... American Folk Art Copper Rooster weathervane, purchased from H.R. Sandor, an important dealer in Americana....Also for you Sampler Collectors...we have wonderful 18th and 19thC samplers generally American and really remarkable.....Also a set of framed period McKenney and Hall Native American engravings and a painted 18thC plate rack and set of six early creamware plated with handpainted fish (purchased from Louise Jesse) many years ago.  Also includes more fascinating smalls.....just stay tuned and watch this list grow as we dig and discover more....and mark your calendars.

Mid Atlantic Painted Parsons Bench.  Wonderful details Valley of Virginia or Western Maryland inlaid Hepplewhite Desk c 1790-1800.  Beautiful intricate chamfered corners with vine inlay. The design and execution was influenced by Baltimore cabinet makers.  The interior prospect door and pigeon holes are of superb design.  19th. C. Pennsylvania Cherry Step Back Cupboard.  Many original glass panes. 19th c. Meriden Dressing Mirror gifted to Rosa Beauregard Harris by Her Godfather Gen P. G. T. Beauregard.  Rosa Harris’ father David Harris of Virginia served in Beauregard’s staff in South Carolina where he died in 1864.  A great piece of Southern History!
