Description & Details

Dang. This one was a workout! But OMG was it worth it!

Step back in time this weekend and check out our sale in Battleground. If you are a child of the 70's... you will recognize this place. It'll feel like the house you grew up in - or maybe your grandparents pad. It's a little smoky. It's cozy. It's kitschy. It's very brown. It is the 70's.

Disclaimer:

This was a smoker's house. We have done everything we can to clean every single item. If it wasn't cleanable - it went away. Mostly. All the laundry, all the dishes, all the scrubbing.... just so you don't have to take the smell home with you! However. There are the walls and the carpet - so if you are very sensitive.... you might want to bring a mask. Just in case.

It's worth it.

BUSINESS FIRST:

There will be a sign up list at the door at 9am. You will be responsible for adding your name. PLEASE - one name per number. We will let in as many as the home will fit safely and comfortably. There is also a separate garage - so everyone can spread out. IF the home gets too full - we will limit how many we let in a time. We will have TWO cash registers - one inside and one in the garage - SO we can keep everyone moving.

Also - Please no snooping around before the sale. The neighbor WILL see you (so will his big dog). AND don't go and try and shop the yard until you're name has been called after 10.

Back to it...

LIVING ROOM:

Ok.  This is important to mention. There are some fairly "adult" items in this house - particularly in this room. LOADS of "Sunbathing/Nudist" magazines from the 40's to 60's. I imagine they will go quickly - but keep this in mind if you plan to bring the kiddos. There are also calendars and books along those lines as well. But that's obviously just a drop in the bucket of what we've got here. Western kitsch.... we've got it in spades. Horses/lamps/art. The 70's are represented in this house in a big way. Mt. St. Helens memorabilia, Daisy BB guns, tons of records (little musty - but there are some greats!) Lots of classic rock, funny album covers - I could have gone nuts if I had gotten to shop these! Bose 901 speakers! Speaking of speakers (ha) - we've got an old drive in movie speaker - how cool is that? MCM console record player/radio - I got the radio working, but the turntable needs a little work.  Check out those 45's. The Banana Splits?! We have TWO. Smoking accessories (cause the 70's), A&W smock and mugs, vintage tabletop air purifier, cuckoo clock, tons of nifty barware, some neat vintage furniture.

FAMILY ROOM:

Oh, it continues. SO MUCH breweriana! Shirts, steins, koozies, Budweiser PAJAMAS! Even more western kitsch. Military items, rustic decor, SEVENTIES EVERYTHING. Set of 3 caned chairs from Italy - one has a little damage. Antlers, local vintage, vintage electronics! 8 track players and 8 tracks. Gorgeous antique oak trunk/dresser. Lanterns, Native American (contemporary) decor, small organ, Frank Sinatra and John Wayne stuff, basket of posters - some are gems! Bins of cds and cassettes. Some dvds and vhs. Old slide stuff. Cast iron, groovy lamps - I mean - LOOK at that incredible pole lamp!! Rack of vintage clothing - Pendleton, local vintage, beer shirts... and more.

DINING ROOM/ KITCHEN:

Your parent's (or grandparent's) kitchen table with 5 chairs, sweet vintage buffet. Lots of fun stuff here. I can't list it all... so look at the photos! I'll point out some of the highlights.
Pyrex, blue and white, tea cups and china, vintage mixer, pretty much everything is vintage. Everything you need to make your own kitchen a time capsule! Dishes, glassware, silverware, bake and cookware, appliances... decor! Literally the cutest toaster I've ever seen. Storage, cast iron, funky cookbooks, lustreware dishes, cool teapots. It's crammed full.

Other things not in "rooms" are: embroidered tea towels, bath and laundry items, old standing radio - kind of a project deal, 7up cooler! Little, fragile glass animals and more wall art.

MASTER BEDROOM:

Oh... here we go. More clothes! Disco shirt and suit - OMG that shirt. Some ladies clothing too! Gorgeous waterfall style dresser/vanity/nightstand with bakelite/lucite handles. Lane cedar lined trunk, vintage Playboys (watch the kids), pretty 70's decor - Unicorns and kitties. Guys stuff like cowboy boots/hats, shoes, bow ties and skinny ties. Closet full and rack full of clothes for guys, gals and the in-betweens.

Somewhere in the house - I haven't found a spot yet - you'll find a tray or basket (or both because there is a LOT!) full of vintage costume jewelry and bagged trinkets!

KID ROOM:

First of all... that wallpaper! It's not for sale, but I had to call it out! This room is SO CRAZY FULL. Vintage Disney toys and movies, kids and baby clothes! Very vintage baby scale, stuffies, Cabbage Patch and other dolls from your (at least mine) youth, Hear and Read 45's, toy record players, giant FONZI puzzle, Peanuts, kid art, Incredible smiley face light cover, BOOKS! Classics, Raggedy Ann, Nancy Drew and MANY more.  Cartoon glassware, Tinker toys, games, linens!! I haven't even seen everything in this room! It's layers of goodies.

OFFICE:

Cute vintage secretary desk, vintage Kenmore sewing machine and table, 3 vintage typewriters and a few type-teaching records! Bookcases full of books - several on the naughty side. Vintage patterns, sewing and office supplies. Gorgeous vintage globe - you need to look closely at it. It's got great details - along with a great set of legs. Oh - and if someone doesn't get it before you - there is a Cross pen with Charlie the Tuna on it!

BACK HALLWAY:

VINTAGE CHRISTMAS. I can't believe I didn't get photos of that! I'm going to try and make it over in the next few days to get some, but if I don't - I'm guessing you know EXACTLY what I'm talking about. Plus a functioning color wheel. :)

GARAGE:

This is a separate building with it's own cash register. IT IS FULL. Kitchen overflow, MORE clothing - mostly men's. But it's good. Leather coats, lots of vintage, but some brand new stuff - like Cabela and Carhartt. Also lots of Willamette Cemetery shirts and jackets. Vintage camping/cooking and and electric "Big Boy" cooker. Skiis, waterskiis and other sports stuff. Bagged comic books, Jarts, hand and some power tools, Military stuff, household maintenance, canning supplies (lots of old jars), huge burl that would make a fantastic table or whatever you can dream up, electronics, craft supplies. Oh and remember how a while back we had a garage that I said it was the type of place you might find a Mogwai for sale in a cage? Well... we've actually got that here. :)  Incredible Texas Trunk - loaded up with everything you need to "dine out". There will be some more yard and gardening tools outside the garage.

SPEAKING OF OUTSIDE:

In the back - LOTS of planters, pots, outdoor decor. Vintage chairs, perfectly worn metal table, baskets, shells, rocks, Sazco bbq or smoker - ORANGE! It's packed out there with goodies!

Out front we've got a cool old boxspring that could be repurposed for lots of fun things, an MG - needs a lot, but what a fun project! Also a little boat - we never got to emptying it out... but you get whatever is in it!

Oh... and my favorite. Elephant park toy. I want to take this home and cement it into the ground for extra seating. How cute is that?! Someone get it... I don't have time for that project!

This one has nearly killed us, but we are so happy with the results! I'm hoping you all will appreciate our efforts and have a blast shopping. I'm really looking forward to watching you all discover what we have found for you!!
