Anyone needing an honest and trustworthy business, particularly if you are handling an estate and you live out of state, Chief Estates should be your number one consideration. There are so many other services aside from the auction that they offer. Jason did a complete clean out of the property in an absolutely seamless manner, at the same time saving me from having to travel and be there. He and his team left the house Spotless inside and out!
If there is a special service that you require, just ask. Chances are they’re able to accommodate.

Chief Estates is, simply, outstanding. I cannot imagine a better or more effective service for a home clean out or for the removal of bulk and/or large items.

When it was finally time to sell our parents’ large old home in White Plains, we faced the overwhelming task of having to empty over 58 years’ worth of contents from the house in an exceptionally short period of time – this was a very fast sale and we had only a little more than a week to finish.

After soliciting recommendations, we retained Chief Estates. We are fortunate to have met Jason Pallett, and we could have made no better choice than trusting Chief Estates to handle things.

Jason and his team were outstanding. The communication was frequent and clear. They did everything we asked them to do, and their performance was impressive and flawless. The team worked quickly, efficiently and carefully. Most importantly, Jason is honest and trustworthy; his word is his bond, and he is a professional in the best sense of that word.

In this regard two things are noteworthy: first, his team found a number of photographs that we, somehow, had missed; they made a point of safeguarding those items and ensuring we got them. Second, Jason’s quote and estimate on this massive job ended up being high – they were so efficient and careful that they finished the job more quickly, and used fewer dumpsters, than he originally had anticipated (in part because he and his team maximize the available space in the dumpsters and break down items so as to minimize space) – so Jason was able to offer a meaningful discount on the final bill.

To put this all into appropriate context: this was no small or ordinary job. My parents were the children of immigrants who seemed to hold onto everything. They also inherited furniture and personal items from their extended families in the New York metropolitan area – their house seemed to be the final destination of things, valuable or not, that no one else seemed to want to discard, and because, I suppose, the thought was you never know if you might need or want something.

And the house was large, including full-sized attic and basement, each with multiple rooms. There were also large and heavy items that are, today, almost impossible to dispense with, including a baby grand piano; a genuine (and massive) slate top pool table assembled by my paternal grandfather; tools for woodworking and light industrial uses; beautiful old wood furniture from bygone eras.

Jason Pallett is a gentleman. He and his team are trustworthy, efficient, careful and dependable. They handled a large and difficult job professionally and with compassion. And at every turn he did the right thing.

I would recommend him to anyone and, if the circumstances arose, I would not hesitate to retain him again.
