"I am writing this letter out of relief and gratitude with respect to Valerie and Eddie, owners of Martindale Auction Services. My mother passed away about a year ago. She had moved to California recently but had filled the largest storage space available (10x30) with her antique collection and other furniture, to be moved at a later date. I knew I had a task in front of me to go through all of her keepsakes and the like. When I opened this storage facility it just about fell on top of me. I immediately realized there was no way I could manage the shear volume of items, nor was I at all knowledgeable of the value of her passion, antiques. I was lost. I asked around and someone mentioned Valerie. I live in the big city and am always cautious sometimes skeptical. You can imagine my initial fear with all of these antiques I knew nothing about. Now looking back, I can't tell you how fortunate I was to have been able to find someone like her. Not only were her and Eddie compassionate but knowledgeable of the worth of mom's prized things. One morning we met at the storage unit, they unloaded it and actually helped me with cleaning out the unit and helped me relinquish it. This alone was going to save me hundreds of dollars in monthly dues. Straight to their warehouse to unload, inventory, categorize, research and then establishing a fair value on everything, as I sat back and waited until auction day. Things couldn't have gone better... I made out much better than I expected. Yes, there were some items that didn't sell but only because through her research Valerie felt like I should wait to get more of a fair price. I live 200 miles away with a wife and family and oh yea a job. I had no time or energy to incorporate a new hobby of moving furniture to turn around and sell it at some garage sale or antique dealer. I can't tell you how honest and kind they are. It was a gift that I found them and am happy to recommend their services."
