This auction is built for buyers who like volume and real discovery. We've packed a wide range of ancient to antique material into grouped lots, including relic assortments, jade pieces, mixed artifacts, and unexpected finds all in one place. Some lots are cleaner, some are raw and untouched, but that's exactly where the value is. Instead of chasing single items, you're bidding on boxes and bundles where one win can unlock multiple pieces. If you know how to sort, resell, or collect in bulk, this is where it makes sense. Go through the catalog carefully, spot the lots with hidden upside, and bid smart. This auction is built for buyers who like volume and real discovery. Two revolutions. One vision. The Bauhaus in Weimar. Rationalism in Milan. The same war on ornamentation. The same obsession with pure form. On one side, Marcel Breuer and the German masters. On the other, Giuseppe Pagano Montalcini. Giuseppe Terragni. Adalberto Libera. Luigi Figini. Gino Pollini. Pietro Lingeri. Piero Bottoni. Two worlds that never truly parted ways. These objects do not come from a gallery. They come from a private collection built over 50 years. Piece by piece. With obsession. With method. Such provenance cannot be improvised. On June 9, Native will hold its 31st auction, featuring, as usual, a selection of tribal art, design, and modern and contemporary art. This time, a strong selection of 19th- and 20th-century art will be offered, drawn from various private collections. In the tribal section, highlights include a Guro mask attributed to the Master of Bouafle, a Luba cup-bearer from the collection of Gustave Van Geluwe, and a Nkisi N?konde Kongo figure with a base by Kichiz? Inagaki. In the design section, we highlight a few names: Ren? Lalique, Alberto Giacometti, Jules Wabbes, Poul Kj?rholm, Charlotte Perriand, Pierre Jeanneret, and Maarten Van Severen, among others. About Leonid Afremov Leonid Afremov (1955-2019) was a Belarusian-Israeli painter internationally recognized for his distinctive use of the palette knife, a technique that allowed him to create richly textured surfaces and striking depth without the use of traditional brushes. His work is immediately identifiable by its intense color saturation, bold contrasts, and luminous light effects, often depicting rain-soaked streets, glowing lampposts, quiet parks, and romantic urban scenes. Afremov had a unique ability to transform everyday moments into emotionally charged compositions filled with warmth, nostalgia, and movement. Working primarily with oil on canvas, he built his compositions through layers of thick, expressive strokes, giving each painting a sculptural quality. His signature style blends elements of modern impressionism with a highly personal visual language that emphasizes atmosphere over detail. Unlike many contemporary artists, Afremov achieved global recognition largely outside traditional gallery systems, connecting directly with collectors worldwide. Today, his works are widely collected for their decorative impact, accessibility, and instantly recognizable aesthetic, making them especially appealing for both new and seasoned art buyers. This auction presents a vibrant and carefully assembled selection of works in the unmistakable style of Leonid Afremov, celebrated for his expressive palette knife technique and luminous use of color.
