This tractor was manufactured between 1978-89. The tractor’s serial number plate is hidden by
the mower’s PTO gear box attached to the rear of the tractor, so the precise age is not known.
The time meter shows 194 hours (which is highly questionable). It is believed this tractor is from
the mid portion of the production run. This is a 2-wheel drive, compact utility tractor built by
Yanmar (Japanese tractor manufacturer) for John Deere. It has a 1.3L, 3-Cylinder, diesel
engine, and manual steering. Includes the 72” mid-mount mower deck, digital format John
Deere operators manual, and technical shop manual.
The tractor is in fair cosmetic condition and is missing a panel cover just below the dashboard.
All electrics are working. In warm weather, the tractor starts and runs well. It does have a
thermostart device which does work, yet the tractor (like most diesels) is hard to start in cold
weather. The tractor was used for mowing last summer and worked well. The brakes work but
are in need of service/adjustment.
