TITLE: Qing Dynasty Tiger Class Mandarin Court Official Portrait
SUBJECT ITEM: A Large Super-fine Qing Dynasty Mandarin Ancestor Portrait
MEDIUM: Hand painted on paper, appropriated framed under glass
DIMENSIONS: 52x 65 inches
CIRCA: Late Qing Dynasty/Pre-1912.
ATTRIBUTION: Imperial China
DESCRIPTION: This outstanding Mandarin Portrait is as fine as the gets! The artist has traditionally posed a Tiger Class Mandarin Court Official seated directed engaging the viewer, and dressed in period imperial court dress appropriate to his rank. A supplicant female attendant stands at his side ready to attend to every command. A carefully set scholars table horizontally borders the backdrop, and sets the courtly tone of the piece.
CONDITION: There appears to be some moisture damage to the painting that seems confined to the upper left quadrant of the painting, most notable to the subjects facial details.
APPRAISED MARKET VALUE: $2,820.
