Up for bid is a stunning original masterwork(1981) from the legendary comic book illustrator John Totleben, born in Erie in 1958. This piece was completed just a couple years before he took the comic industry by storm as the co-creator of DC Comics’ revolutionary The Saga of the Swamp Thing run with Alan Moore and Stephen Bissette. If you are a fan of Heavy Metal, of which the artist was an illustrator for, this is a must have. This exhibition-level portfolio piece showcases a magnificent, science fiction aircraft gracefully navigating through a dense forest valley. His work has turned up in Heritage auctions, often exceeding five figures.

Welcome to the first annual 814 auction, ending on 8/14. What better way to start off this series of auctions from this lifetime collection than to showcase the Gem City. Everything in this particular auction has ties to the 814, some obvious, some you’ll have to research. Part history lesson, part competition..this is a reminder of how historic our city is.
This is the first in a series of several online auctions over the next few months-all from a beautiful beach house along Lake Erie from a lifetime collector. You can look forward to future online auctions featuring vintage movie, war and circus posters, vinyl, Star Wars, Superman, comic books, vintage toys, rock and roll memorabilia, sports memorabilia, baseball cards, rock and much more-there are likely a number of items that will be going to a major auction house that we partner with (more to come on that).
